Mohamad Mova Al'Afghani, PhD

Mohammad Mova Al-Afghani has substantial experience in a wide range of legal areas, including water law, environmental law, international law, and human rights, with a particular emphasis on regulation and access to information. He is a seasoned professional with a solid educational background and broad experience in this field. Throughout his career, he has made significant contributions through research, consultancy, and influential positions inside reputable organizations.

Mova holds a Ph.D. in Water Law from the UNESCO Centre for Water Law, Policy, and Science at the University of Dundee, UK. He also earned LLM in European and International Law from Universitaet Bremen, Germany, and a Bachelor of Law (S.H.) from Universitas Indonesia. Mova also receives the DAAD Scholarship, which supported his post-graduate study of law in Germany. In addition, Mova is the author of the book “Legal Frameworks for Transparency in Water Utilities Regulation” and has contributed to peer-reviewed publications and edited books. Mova has given papers at international conferences on issues such as constitutional court principles, community-based water and sanitation, and risk-based regulation. 

Mova is experienced in regulation, information access, and various legal subjects, including water law, environmental law, and human rights. He has extensive experience as an expert consultant for international organizations such as the United Nations Development Programme and the World Bank, and he has contributed valuable insights into water policy, environmental due diligence, and budget credibility. Mova is also the Director of the Center for Regulation, Policy, and Governance (CRPG) and contributes to academics as a lecturer and researcher at Universitas Ibn Khaldun Bogor and prestigious institutions such as UNESCO and the Max Planck Institute. 

Mova is the Director of the Center for Regulation, Policy and Governance (CRPG) and has been actively involved in shaping regulatory frameworks and promoting good governance practices. As a lecturer at Universitas Ibn Khaldun Bogor, Mova imparts his knowledge in subjects such as Environmental Law, International Law, and Legal English.
